Yarn Tie-Dye Weaving/ Ikat of Andhra Pradesh/Telangana

Pochampally is famous for its tie-and-dye or Pochampalli Ikat products, both in cotton and silk. Patterns are recreated on yarns of different colours by tieing (resisting) and dyeing the exposed area repeatedly before weaving. The fabric woven through this technique shows a hazy pattern which has a certain appeal. The design pattern is mainly inspired by geometry.
